RADAR Spots Growth In Network Radio

ARBITRON's SEPTEMBER 2009 RADAR radio network audience ratings survey found that more than 187 million persons 12+ heard one or more network radio commercials each week of the survey period. RADAR noted an increase in the number of people reached by network radio from the RADAR 101 period for key buying and selling demographic groups.
Among the prime audience demographics sought by advertisers, the commercials aired on the 58 radio networks reached:
73.5% of Persons 12+
74.0% of Persons 18+ (170,612,000 Persons)
73.9% of Persons 35+ (118,400,000 Persons)
75.3% of Persons 18-49 (101,942,000 Persons)
75.8% of Persons 25-54 (96,107,000 Persons)DIAL GLOBAL continued to dominate the rankings, with five of the top-six networks in the 25-43 audience demo. PREMIERE landed three networks in the top 10. In the 18-49 demo, DIAL GLOBAL had the top three networks, as well as 5th and 7th. PREMIERE networks finished 4th, 6th, 9th and 10th.

USRN Moving Up
UNITED STATIONS RADIO NETWORKS noted that it enjoyed solid growth in the RADAR 102 Network Radio rankings. The USRN Impact Network broke into the Top 5 rank in all six of the network’s key demographic targets.
The audience growth was up in both Men and Women in 18-49 and 25-54. the largest percentage increases came among Women 25-54, which was up 22.3% over RADAR 101, and among Men 25-54, which rose 25.9%.
