The ACM (ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC) recognized special "Honerees," from the 44th Annual ACM AWARDS last night at the SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER in NASHVILLE. The event was hosted by MCA artist LEE ANN WOMACK and the evening included a mix of live music, historical video retrospectives and current video tributes and interviews with industry veterans honoring Special Awards recipients.
MERLE HAGGARD, HARLAN HOWARD, DOLLY PARTON, HANK WILLIAMS Jr., KENNY ROGERS, RANDY TRAVIS and others were all recognized. "It's a lump in the throat to be here this evening," said HAGGARD,. He was there to receive a Poet's Award, along with songwriting great HARLAN HOWARD. "It's wonderful to go in with HARLAN. I idolize him."
