WFUV Features Rock And Roots Favorites For Fund Drive

FORDHAM UNIVERSITY Triple A WFUVNEW YORK will be spotlighting Rock and Roots albums throughout its fall membership drive from OCTOBER 5th-9th. Covering everything from the ROLLING STONES to RYAN ADAMS, WFUV hosts will be playing tracks from select Rock & Roots albums each hour beginning at 6a and running through 10p.

Listeners can also visit wfuv.org to test their music trivia knowledge with the Rock & Roots Radio Puzzle. Listeners who correctly identify snippets of 35 album covers will be entered into a random daily drawing, with a chance to win one of seven iPods.

"It's always been a challenge to describe WFUV's unconventional format," said WFUV MD RITA HOUSTON "But in one of those 'aha!' moments, we realized that 'Rock and Roots' really sums it up. We play indie rock and classic rock and the artists who shaped rock. That's what sets ‘FUV apart. And having the puzzle contest is a fun way for our smart listeners to be involved."

The membership drive takes place just as WFUV is launching its first marketing campaign on mass transit and cable television this fall. Using the new tagline "Rock and Roots Radio" to describe the station's eclectic music format, the advertising campaign will be centered around the theme of "I Am WFUV" and features station hosts, core artists and station members.
