After many years on the COLUMBIA label, Country artist GRETCHEN WILSON has officially launched her new record label, REDNECK RECORDS. The first release on the label will be GRETCHEN's new single, "Work Hard, Play Harder," written by WILSON, JOHN RICH and VICKY McGEHEE. The single will be released on MONDAY (10/5) and is impacting Country radio on OCTOBER 26th.
The video for the song will begin airing in mid-OCTOBER, and her new album, "I Got Your Country Right Here," will hit stores in early 2010. Click here to get a sneak peak of the video.
As President of REDNECK RECORDS, GRETCHEN will oversee virtually all operations of the label. She said, "My management and I looked at a lot of different options over the last couple of months, and starting REDNECK RECORDS made the most sense to continue the relationships I've built with radio, retail and the fans. This is a really exciting time in my life, and I'm looking forward to everyone hearing my new music."
GRETCHEN is managed by MORRIS ARTIST MANAGEMENT, with day-to-day activities overseen by MARC OSWALD. REDNECK RECORDS has inked a deal with RED DISTRIBUTION, a division of SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT. Promotion veteran BOB MITCHELL has joined the label as Strategic Consultant for Radio Promotions and will relocate to NASHVILLE. BOB, whose past stops include SMITH MUSIC GROUP, SONY MUSIC and DREAMWORKS, can be reached at (615) 720-7467 and thegardenrow@yahoo.com.
Radio promotion efforts will be spearheaded by CO5 NASHVILLE, and GRETCHEN's personal appearances will be booked by WILLIAM MORRIS ENDEAVOR ENTERTAINMENT. GREG OSWALD will continue to act as her agent. Music video marketing and promotion will be handled by ARISTOMEDIA's ARISTOVIDEO division. CAMPBELL ENTERTAINMENT GROUP will oversee publicity for WILSON and REDNECK RECORDS.
