The CHARLOTTE BOBCATS will be heard on CBS RADIO Sports WFNZ-A (THE FAN)/CHARLOTTE this season, the team announced FRIDAY (10/2), moving from GHB-NORSAN Regional Mexican WOLS (LA RAZA), which aired the games in English last season even after flipping to a Spanish-language format from Oldies. SCOTT LAUER will return as play-by-play voice of the NBA team. Games conflicting with other play-by-play will be bounced to sister Talk WBCN-A (AMERICA'S TALK 1660AM).
"WFNZ is right for us because it's CHARLOTTE's only all-Sports radio station, and its combination of production experience and appreciation for the wants and needs of sports fans ensures our games will be broadcast the right way," said team Pres./COO FRED WHITFIELD. "In the end there were several options for us to consider, but the valuable promotional opportunities that WFNZ will provide us with makes them our first and best choice and we're proud to play a major role in their re-branding strategy."
"We are very excited to become the flagship station of the CHARLOTTE BOBCATS," said WFNZ-WBCN-WSOC-A OM/PD DJ STOUT. "They are a franchise on the rise and we look forward to being a part of it every step of the way."
