WPRO's DePetro Protests Brown U. Columbus Day Ban

CITADEL Talk WPRO-A-WEAN/PROVIDENCE host JOHN DEPETRO is joining with BROWN UNIVERSITY Republicans to protest the college's boycott of COLUMBUS DAY. In APRIL, BROWN changed the name of this weekend's time off from COLUMBUS DAY weekend to the more generic "FALL Weekend" in response to urging from some students not to observe COLUMBUS DAY because of COLUMBUS' treatment of Native Americans.  

DEPETRO will be appearing at the rally at noon ET TODAY at the flagpole at the corner of George and Brown Streets in PROVIDENCE. 

In addition, WPRO is debuting video investigative news reports by longtime former crosstown ABC affiliate WTEV (TV) reporter JIM HUMMEL. "THE HUMMEL REPORT," produced with OCEAN STATE POLICY RESEARCH INSTITUTE, will appear starting THURSDAY (10/15) at 630WPRO.COM.
