BBC RADIO 4 has commissioned a radio adaptation of IAN FLEMING's JAMES BOND novel "Goldfinger" for airing early next year, reports THE STAGE. Production company JARVIS AND AYRES, headed by actors MARTIN JARVIS and ROSALIND AYRES, will produce the drama; the company produced last year's successful adaptation of "Dr. No" with TOBY STEPHENS as 007 and DAVID SUCHET as DR. NO.
The "Dr. No" presentation was only the third radio adaptation of BOND novels, following a version of "Moonraker" in SOUTH AFRICA in the 1950's and a 1990 version of "You Only Live Twice" on RADIO 4 in 1990.
