Singer AL MARTINO, whose series of hit records was eclipsed by his appearance as crooner JOHNNY FONTANE in the iconic film "The Godfather," has passed away at 82. The PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER reports that MARTINO died TUESDAY at his home in suburban PHILADELPHIA.
Born ALFRED CINI, MARTINO had several hit singles in the 1950's through the 1970's, including number one hit "Here In My Heart" in 1952 and top 10 hits "I Love You Because" and "I Love You More And More Every Day."
