The economy is claiming another radio victim, this time longtime KOVAS COMMUNICATIONS Ethnic WCGO-A/CHICAGO's weekly "JEWISH COMMUNITY HOUR," which will go silent after the OCTOBER 25th edition.
The CHICAGO TRIBUNE reports that the SUNDAY morning fixture will end after 46 years due to financial concerns, with host/producer BERNIE FINKEL saying that the show's most loyal sponsors are cutting back and that his appeals to the community were fruitless. "The roots of the current generation are not the same," said FINKEL. "The show has run its course, apparently."
