When the SEATTLE SOUNDERS defeated the KANSAS CITY WIZARDS 3-2 in MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER action recently, the impact of the win resonated from the PACIFIC NORTHWEST to SOUTH FLORIDA. That’s because entertainer DREW CAREY, host of THE PRICE IS RIGHT and co-owner of the SOUNDERS, made an offer on the "PAUL & YOUNG RON SHOW" that definitely won’t be refused.
CAREY told CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Rock WBGG/MIAMI and syndicated morning show hosts PAUL CASTRONOVO and "YOUNG" RON BREWER that he’d make a $50,000 donation to FEEDING SOUTH FLORIDA (formerly THE DAILY BREAD FOOD BANK) if SEATTLE beat KANSAS CITY. The offer was made during a segment when PAUL and RON updated CAREY on a recent fire that destroyed all the food at FEEDING SOUTH FLORIDA’s PEMBROKE PARK warehouse.
Both the entertainer and morning show hosts (www.paulandyoungron.com) have a common bond with the nonprofit organization. CAREY previously donated $50,000 after HURRICANE WILMA in 2005 while PAUL & YOUNG RON’s annual holiday food drive has collected money and millions of pounds of food for needy SOUTH FLORIDIANS during its 14-year history.
