2009 ASCAP Country Music Award Winners Announced
Ashley Gorley Wins 'Songwriter Of The Year'

The annual ASCAP COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS were held last night (10/19) at the RYMAN AUDITORIUM in NASHVILLE, and songwriter ASHLEY GORLEY was the night's big winner.
GORLEY was named "Songwriter Of The Year" for "You're Gonna Miss This" (TRACE ADKINS), "Start A Band" (BRAD PAISLEY & KEITH URBAN) and "It Won't Be Like This For Long" (DARIUS RUCKER). He also took home "Country Song Of The Year" for "You're Gonna Miss This."
ARISTA/NASHVILLE star ALAN JACKSON was given "Songwriter/Artist Of The Year" for his hits, "Good Time" and "Country Boy," and EMI MUSIC PUBLISHING won "Publisher Of The Year."
The "Golden Note Award" was presented to J.D. SOUTHER, and the CLEAR CHANNEL Country WSIX/NASHVILLE morning team, GERRY HOUSE & THE HOUSE FOUNDATION, won the "Partners In Music Award" for their longtime support of songwriters and artists.
