MERCURY artist JAMEY JOHNSON and UNIVERSAL RECORDS SOUTH artist RANDY HOUSER have teamed up with CMT ONE COUNTRY to support the UNITED SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS during "CMT on Tour 09." At each stop of the tour, concert attendees will be encouraged to fill out a postcard thanking the troops for their service and then those postcards will be delivered to the troops through the USO.
This pledge is also available for CMT fans online at www.cmtonecountry.com.
After the tour concludes, an online auction of memorabilia from JOHNSON and HOUSER will go up on www.CMTauctions.com with all proceeds benefiting the USO.
JOHNSON said: “Those guys in the field need some emotional connection to home, and I think this project will bring a little bit of home to them. Regardless what your political beliefs are about the war, you have to respect the fact that another human being in your country is willing to give their life for your freedom.”
"CMT on Tour 09" kicked off recently in NEW YORK and will hit 30 markets across the country this fall. Visit www.cmtontour.com for tour dates and ticketing info.
