JOURNAL Talk KQTH (104.1 THE TRUTH)/TUCSON morning host JON JUSTICE has been anointed the "RUSH LIMBAUGH of TUCSON" by the PIMA COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY, which ripped his support of Proposition 200 (the "Public Safety First" initiative) as fiscally irresponsible and criticized his plan to pay for the proposal with sharp cuts in public spending. The Democrats' Chairman JEFF ROGERS referred to JUSTICE as a "shock jock" and anointed the spending cuts "the JOHN (sic) JUSTICE Plan."
Local Republicans jumped to JUSTICE's defense, with PIMA COUNTY GOP Chairman Bob Westerman saying, "I'm disappointed to see the PIMA Democrats following the same extreme left dogma of attacking conservative commentators. I guess this means JON won't be able to buy into the (minor league baseball) TUCSON TOROS. Sorry JON. Bottom line, as with FOX NEWS, the attack will just drive up the show's ratings." A GOP press release suggested, "If ROGERS wants to reach out to more voters, maybe he should consider appearing on JUSTICE's show."
