As ALL ACCESS reported previously (NET NEWS 10/16), ALPHA BROADCASTING Country KUPL/PORTLAND, OR morning personality LEE ROGERS has announced his retirement. ROGERS made the announcement this morning (10/26), that he will be retiring from radio after DECEMBER 13th.
Morning co-host ALANA LYNN had been rumored to be leaving the station DECEMBER 4th, but in a phone call to ALL ACCESS this morning from LYNN and OM /PD SCOTT MAHALICK, those plans are still up in the air. MAHALICK said that they have given ALANA the green light to look around for other opportunities, but simultaneously she will also meet with the candidates for the KUPL morning show.
"We would like to see what kind of chemistry there is between ALANA and the final candidates for the morning show," said MAHALICK. "At the same time, being fair to her, we wanted ALANA to be able to look around for other opportunities as well."
Regardless, this will open the door for a new morning show on KUPL for 2010. Stay tuned for details.
You can reach out to ALANA LYNN at (503) 200-9660 or lynn.alana@gmail.com.
