Former MICROSOFT VP/Sales STEPHEN MOSS joins NATIONAL PUBLIC MEDIA, the national corporate sponsorship sales arm of NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO, PBS, and WGBH-TV-F/BOSTON, as Pres./CEO, replacing ROBERT WILLIAMS. MOSS, most recently VP/Business Development at online publisher EVRI, also briefly served as CEO of DOUBLECLICK MEDIA's CHINA operations.
"STEVE's broad experience and strong understanding of sales and advertising across multiple platforms will be hugely beneficial both to our sponsors who underwrite public media and the pubic broadcasting stations across the country that are expanding their services to meet the information needs of their communities," said NPR Pres./CEO and NPM Board Chair VIVIAN SCHILLER. "STEVE is a collaborative and proven leader with superb talents in a highly desired space -- at the intersection of media and technology -- a critical ingredient to our long-term success. We're thrilled to have him on board."
"Corporate support is essential to public broadcasting's ability to fulfill its mission to use media to educate, inspire and entertain the American people and strengthen civic engagement," said PBS Pres./CEO PAULA KERGER. "STEVE has the skills, experience and understanding of the quickly evolving media landscape to identify opportunities and secure the resources we need to serve the public."
"Making the case for public media is mission critical, and I am honored to have this opportunity to lead and grow NPM," said MOSS. "Public radio listening is at an all-time high and public TV holds a special place in the hearts and minds of Americans, and together, the two are an incredibly compelling value proposition in the sponsorship world given the current state of media. I look forward to working with this talented and dedicated management team and staff to take our service to a new level."
