Former WMOX/Meridian, MS Manager, Host Eddie Smith Dies

Condolences to family and friends of longtime former WMOX-A/MERIDIAN, MS CEO/GM and morning host EDDIE SMITH, who died SUNDAY in MERIDIAN at 73, according to the MERIDIAN STAR. SMITH joined WMOX from WCMI-A/COLUMBUS, MS in 1961 and remained at WMOX until retiring from the morning show in 2005.

SMITH's son BILL SMITH took over managing and morning co-hosting duties at the station from his father.
