Booking Agent Billy Deaton Passes Away At Age 74

The TENNESSEAN is reporting that NASHVILLE booking agent BILLY DEATON passed away on SATURDAY (10/31) at age 74 after a lengthy illness. DEATON booked shows for FARON YOUNG, WILLIE NELSON, ROGER MILLER and numerous others. He was known as "The Deacon" and worked on MUSIC ROW for
more than three decades.DEATON worked with YOUNG for 25 years and was an integral part in YOUNG's Country music success. He is also credited with co-writing Country classics "Wine Me Up" and "Louisiana Man."
