DAVE VAN DYKE's BRIDGE RATINGS makes a return to distributing media consumption analyses this week with a peek into the state of satellite radio.
According to VAN DYKE, "Last week MEL KARMAZIN began his Q3 call with investors by saying 'the subscription radio business model is very alive and very well'.
"And though subscriptions to satellite radio continue to slide, it is likely that the company's 'most aggressive brand marketing campaign' that SIRIUS/XM introduce this THANKSGIVING will not significantly boost subs.
"This BRIDGE RATINGS study projects only a slight boost in Q4 2009 subscriptions for satellite radio. The service's Brand Stimulation Score won't support sales improvement much higher than that."
