Station Fined For Building, Operating Without Proper Permit

The FCC has fined HODSON BROADCASTING, permittee of KHOD/DES MOINES, NM, $20,000 for unauthorized operation of the station at variance with its authorization. 

The station was granted in 2006 and HODSON applied to move the station to RATON, NM and downgrade to Class A in FEBRUARY 2009; the application was dismissed, but the permittee built and signed the station on from the unapproved site anyway without applying for an STA or otherwise receiving approval.  A subsequent STA application was denied in APRIL 2009.
