BBC Trust Rejects Atheists' Appeal On 'Thought For The Day'

The BBC TRUST has rejected atheist groups' demand that atheists, secularists and humanists be included among the speakers on BBC RADIO 4's longrunning religious feature "THOUGHT FOR THE DAY." 

The groups filed complaints earlier in the year, asking that the slot be opened to non-religious groups; a non-religious version of the feature was added to the weekly "iPM" show, but the TRUST ruled that "THOUGHT FOR THE DAY" is a religious show and a matter for managerial editorial discretion.
