CBS RADIO News WBBM-A/CHICAGO morning co-anchor JOHN HULTMAN, who returned last year on a temporary basis to fill the slot left when PAT CASSIDY quit to join crosstown CITADEL Talk WLS-A, may finally be able to retire again, as VOCALO.ORG's ROBERT FEDER reports that WBBM has narrowed its list of permanent replacement candidates to three.
HULTMAN, who spent 30 years at WBBM before retiring a decade ago, returned to co-anchor mornings with FELICIA MIDDLEBROOKS with the idea that he would be handling the shift on a short-term basis, but has been in the anchor chair for 16 months. FEDER says that the permanent successor for CASSIDY is expected to be chosen by early next year.
