Woman Throws Brick Through WGN Studio Window

A woman threw a brick through the street-level TRIBUNE TOWER studio window of TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO this morning, startling host JOHN WILLIAMS but causing no injuries. The woman, screaming about CHICAGO school board president MICHAEL SCOTT (who apparently committed suicide this week), took the brick out of a gift bag and hurled it through the window facing Michigan Avenue, then sat down in the middle of the busy street. TRIBUNE security guards directed traffic around the woman, who a witness said was yelling that "the police killed" SCOTT.

Officer JOANN TAYLOR told the CHICAGO TRIBUNE that the woman "may be a mental patient. She might be a little sick." The woman was taken to NORTHWESTERN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL for evaluation.

WILLIAMS told the TRIBUNE and passers-by gathered outside the studio during a commercial break, "I thought it was like a foam... it went right through."
