SALEM RADIO NETWORK talk hosts BILL BENNETT, MIKE GALLAGHER, DENNIS PRAGER, JANET PARSHALL, MICHAEL MEDVED and HUGH HEWITT's annual fund raising campaign for FEED THE CHILDREN has broken the $200,000 threshold. The campaign passed the $200,000 mark as of 6:55p ET SUNDAY (10/22).
VP/News and Talk Programming TOM TRADUP said, "As the radio industry continues to reel from downsizing, format eliminations and consolidation -— often in the mistaken notion that it will help preserve a failing business model —- this 2009 campaign by our SRN hosts should remind everyone that at the end of the day, talk radio is flourishing. With all the criticism and carping about 'fairness' or 'controversial programming' in talk radio, at the end of the day we still move peoples hearts and emotions. And we’re still VERY good generating revenue for both advertisers and worthy charities."
Gallagher, Hewitt Protest Health Care Bills
SALEM talkers also participated in two rallies for DOCS4PATIENTCARE.ORG on SATURDAY (11/21), with MIKE GALLAGHER at the ATLANTA event and HUGH HEWITT at a rally in LOS ANGELES. The rallies protested the health care bills making their way through CAPITOL HILL.
