Cochran, Alexander, NABEF To Be Honored At RTDNF Awards

The RADIO TELEVISION DIGITAL NEWS FOUNDATION will honor RTDNA President Emeritus BARBARA COCHRAN, NABEF President and former TV station VP/GM MARCELLUS ALEXANDER, and the NABEF itself at its 20th Anniversary First Amendment Awards Dinner. The event is scheduled for MARCH 4th, 2010 at WASHINGTON's RITZ-CARLTON HOTEL.
"Throughout his career both as a station executive and leader at NAB and NABEF, MARCELLUS ALEXANDER has exemplified public service and community commitment at the highest level," said RTDNF Chairman ED ESPOSITO. "MARCELLUS and NABEF have been great friends and true partners to the needs of electronic journalists and RTDNA."
"BARBARA COCHRAN continues to serve as a legendary advocate for journalism and is a strong voice on behalf of the First Amendment," added ESPOSITO. "BARBARA's counsel and guidance to our profession serves as an inspiration and beacon."
As previously announced, CBS NEWS VP/Radio HARVEY NAGLER will be honored with the RADIO AND TELEVISION NEWS DIRECTORS FOUNDATION's First Amendment Service Award at the RTNDF's 20th annual First Amendment Awards Dinner on MARCH 4th, 2010 in WASHINGTON. ABC NEWS Pres. DAVID WESTIN will receive the First Amendment Leadership Award and NBC NIGHTLY NEWS Anchor/Managing Editor BRIAN WILLIAMS will be honored with the LEONARD ZEIDENBERG First Amendment Award at the dinner.
