WNYZ Applies For Digital Signal Channel Change

Simulcasts On The LPTV Signal

ISLAND BROADCASTING CO. has applied to move the digital signal of its low-power TV station WNYZ-LP/NEW YORK from channel 6 to channel 22, citing interference from the power increase for full-power co-channel ABC O&O WPVI-TV/PHILADELPHIA.  

The move clears the analog signal of WNYZ, presently on channel 6, to continue to operate for as long as the FCC allows LPTVs to broadcast an analog signal.

WNYZ operates as a virtual radio station, with its audio carrier, heard on most FM radios, airing a Dance format simulcast with JVC MEDIA's WPTY/LONG ISLAND as PARTY 87.7.
