Condolences to family, friends, and fans of FOUR ACES founder and lead singer AL ALBERTS, who died FRIDAY (11/27) in ARCADIA, FL at 87.
ALBERTS, whose group had hits with "Three Coins in the Fountain," "Love is a Many-Splendored Thing," "Melody of Love" and many others in the 1950s, was best known in later years as the longtime host, with wife STELLA, of "AL ALBERTS' SHOWCASE," a youth talent show airing weekly on ABC affiliate WFIL-TV (later WPVI-TV)/PHILADELPHIA. The show aired for 32 years on channel 6 until 1992, after airing for two years (1968-69) on the old WKBS-TV.
