Country WYSH-A/CLINTON, TN is going solar, owner RON MEREDITH tells the KNOXVILLE NEWS-SENTINEL. The station is adding 36 solar panels to its roof to supply the studio and transmitter with their power needs, as well as his personally living quarters.
"I’m going to generate my own electricity," MEREDITH told the paper's LARISA BRASS. "It’s a pretty cool thing, and ... I don’t think it's going to hurt my radio station much, either. I think I'm going to win on a number of different levels."
MEREDITH says that after state and federal grants and incentives, he could end up paying as little as 30% of the total cost of the $80,000 project, which he expects to go online JANUARY 10th.
