MYSPACE has completed its purchase of song streaming site IMEEN for less than $1 million, reports SFGATE.COM. IMEEN has 16 million users and mobile phone applications to stream songs to smartphones.
MYSPACE CEO OWEN VAN NATTA went on a blog to note that the deal would allow the MYSPACE MUSIC venture to integrate IMEEM's offerings over time. "In the coming weeks, our team will be working to take the aspects of imeem that users love and migrate them to MYSPACE MUSIC," he wrote.
IMEEM regular users, who have set up profiles and song playlists, will soon be moved over to the MYSPACE MUSIC platform; visiting the IMEEN site now will automatically take you to MYSPACE MUSIC.
IMEEM CEO DALTON CALDWELL, Chief Technology Officer BRIAN BERG, COO ALI AYDAR and VP/Sales DAVID WADE are staying on as consultants during the transition.
