Condolences to family and friends of CHICAGO and BALTIMORE radio personality BOB DAYTON, who died SATURDAY morning (12/12) after a long illness in PHOENIX, according to FOXROCK COMMUNICATIONS President MATT SMITH, with whom DAYTON worked.
DAYTON (real name BILL HARPER) worked in MINNEAPOLIS, MEMPHIS, and DENVER as well as at WJJD-A, WMAQ-A, WSCR-A (THE SCORE), and WGN-A/CHICAGO and at WPOC/BALTIMORE. He mentored voice talent at FOXROCK in addition to his on-air work.
SMITH said, "I'm heartbroken that we've lost BOB. At the same time, I'm relieved that he’s no longer in any pain. BUBBA was a mentor to me in the radio business, and a true friend. I missed him when we couldn’t talk everyday, and I miss him even more now."
Details on arrangements and a planned memorial will appear at the FOXROCK website, and demos of DAYTON's work is also posted there. Click here for more.
