BRIDGE RATINGS' annual "The Future of Radio" report has been updated for 2010 with information on competitive media usage that shows cume attrition from terrestrial AM and FM radio halted in mid-2009. BRIDGE's analysis sees tune-in growth on the way between 2010 and 2012. While the study shows a decrease in time spent listening to terrestrial radio, combining the figure with online simulcast streaming of the same programming shows TSL increases compared to 2005-2007.
The study also shows that of all the competitive media choices, use of cell phones and smartphones takes more time away from radio listening than does the Internet.
