Longtime CAROLINAS radio and TV personality JON ROBINSON has gone public do admit his double life as a habitual drug abuser. He detailed his life, which also being a cancer survivor and being abused as a child, in THE CHARLOTTE OBSERVER.
ROBINSON, who also played basketball at the UNIV. of MARYLAND, enjoyed high-profile stints as morning host on GREATER MEDIA Talk WBT-A/CHARLOTTE, news anchorman on WBTV-TV/CHARLOTTE and WCBD/CHARLESTON, SC, mornings at now-dark CRN COMMUNICATIONS Talk WDYT-A/CHARLOTTE and, most recently, mornings at CBS RADIO AC WKQC (K104)/CHARLOTTE until his contract expired in NOVEMBER. He admits to doing heroin, cocaine and crack during his basketball days in college and continuing off-but-mostly-on throughout his radio and TV career.
Twice divorced, ROBINSON most recently was hospitalized against his will for evaluation and was released after 72 hours.
