The other shoe drops in the previously-announced move of EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION's FM translator K279AZ/COTTAGE GROVE, MN to downtown MINNEAPOLIS, with the filing of a contract to swap the facility to CLEAR CHANNEL's AMFM BROADCASTING LICENSES, LLC in exchange for programming rights to the HD-2 multicast channel of CC's Urban AC WMXD (MIX 92.3)/DETROIT. The MINNEAPOLIS application lists CC's Talk KTLK-F/MINNEAPOLIS as the primary station, but market speculation is that the translator, atop the IDS CENTER, could be used to put the programming of Sports KFAN-A on the FM dial.
In other deals filed with the FCC, LAKE LIDA BROADCASTING, LLC is selling Country KRCQ (REAL COUNTRY 102)/DETROIT LAKES, MN to LEIGHTON ENTERPRISES, INC. for $887,500 plus an LMA before closing. The deal was contingent on LAKE LIDA acquiring the station for $850,000 from DETROIT LAKES BROADCASTING CO., INC., financed by LEIGHTON.
MICHIANA CHRISTIAN BROADCASTERS, INC. is selling noncommercial Religion WCWB/COLDWATER, MI to BIBLE BROADCASTING NETWORK, INC. for $300,000.
In FM translator deals, AUBURN NETWORK is selling W293BI/RIDGE GROVE, AL to HAROLD SORRELLS for $1; DAVID MADRAY is selling W242BE/WAYCROSS, GA to VICTOR M. VICKERS for $1,000; TAUNA M. BARBIERI is selling K237FA/POCATELLO, ID to CARL WATKINS for $26,492.24; and RADIO ASSIST MINISTRY, INC. is selling W242AP/DUBLIN, GA to JOHN M. DOWDY.
And in a silent STA filing, DLC MEDIA INC. has notified the FCC that it has taken W249BP/PRINCETON, IN silent while it finds a new tower site.
