CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO/HAWAII has flipped KIKI from Rhythmic Top 40 "HOT 93.9" to KHJZ "93.9 JAMZ," which will feature a Generation X Rhythmic playlist with HAWAII influences. RYAN SEAN will serve as PD for the station, whose new music launched TODAY at noon.
Meanwhile, the HOT 93.9 format will shift to 93.9-HD2. In addition, KIKI’s legacy call letters will switch to AM and replace the call letters for CLEAR CHANNEL’s KHBZ-A.
"We're excited to unveil a new era for 93.9 today," CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO/HAWAII VP/GM CHUCK COTTON said. "Radio listeners in Hawaii now have a new choice on the airwaves, something unlike any other station they've heard in the market."
"It’s a new format featuring the ol' skool music Generation X grew up with and certainly not their mom’s old school tunes," Dir./Programming JAMIE HYATT added. "The station name of 93.9 JAMZ is a reference to the way listeners in HAWAII refer to their favorite songs from back in the day."
