NPR recently launched its ARGO Network, an new venture that offers in-depth online reporting on subject areas ranging from climate change to health care reform to higher education to local music.
NPR selected UNVERISTY OF PENNSYLVANIA Triple A WXPN/PHILADELPHIA to participate in the network as its only arts and entertainment site in the country. WXPN has accepted the challenge and created THE KEY, a content-rich aggregator for everything that is PHILLY music. The name is homage to BEN FRANKLIN, PHILADELPHIA’s great discoverer, and reflects the key to music discovery that the site provides.
THE KEY highlights the best music from the greater PHILADELPHIA area through exclusive interviews, concert previews, album reviews, MP3s, news, studio sessions and more, and, includes daily round-ups of the most important local music-related news and performances. Further, WXPN hired veteran music reporter and musician MATTHEW BORLIK to serve as editor for THE KEY. Matt has reported on local music for 10 years.
