PAPPAS Sports KTRB-A (XTRA SPORTS 860)/SAN FRANCISCO has gone into receivership, with COMERICA BANK taking over on FRIDAY (9/13).

The station will continue to air OAKLAND A'S baseball, but has dropped TALK RADIO NETWORK's MICHAEL SAVAGE.  Pre- and post-game host CHRIS TOWNSEND's contract has been assumed by the A'S.

The OAKLAND TRIBUNE reported that PD KEVIN BARRETT had exited but Sports Director KEN DITO was staying on board.

The change leaves veteran programmer BARRETT available for his next opportunity. BARRETT's resume includes stops at KTRS-A/ST. LOUIS; KUGN-A & KSCR-A/EUGENE; KABZ (THE BUZZ)/LITTLE ROCK; KSEQ/FRESNO; and KLKX/PALMDALE, CA. Reach KEVIN at kevinbfm@earthlink.net.
