Gord Bamford Wins Big At Canadian Country Music Awards

GORD BAMFORD was the big winner at last night’s (9/12) CANADIAN COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, which were held at EDMONTON’s REXALL PLACE. BAMFORD picked up “Album of the Year,” “Video of the Year” for his single “Day Job,” and “Male Artist of the Year.”
Other winners of the night included JOHNNY REID for “Single of the Year” for “Dance With Me,” as well as the “Fan’s Choice Award.” REID’s album of the same name was also recognized as a top-selling CANADIAN album. VICTORIA BANKS was named “Female Artist of the Year” and “Songwriter of the Year” (an award she shared with JOHNNY REID and TIA SELLERS) for writing REID’s single “Dance With Me.”

The CCMA also presented awards to additional members of the industry at their annual GALA DINNER and ALL-STAR BAND AWARDS on SATURDAY night (9/11). LARRY WERNER of BIG VALLEY JAMBOREE was honored with the “RON SAKAMOTO Talent Buyer/Promoter of the Year” award, and OLE was named “Music Publishing Company of the Year.”
