As ALL ACCESS reported last week (NET NEWS 9/8), PRESS COMMUNICATIONS Country WKMK (THUNDER 98.5)/MONMOUTH-OCEAN, NJ flipped frequencies with Top 40 sisters WBBO and WHTG YESTERDAY (9/15). THUNDER 98.5 became THUNDER 106, switching from 98.5 to a simulcast on 106.3 and 106.5 -- which is where WBBO/WHTG was located. The move gives the Country station some penetration into the NEW YORK CITY area.
Simultaniously, WBBO (HIT 106) went back in time, and moved to its old location on 98.5 -- rebranding as B98.5 at 3p YESTERDAY. The station moved up to 106 in 2005. PD JUSTIN TYME told ALL ACCESS, "Our lineup includes PORK ROLL & EGGS in AM drive, VAN DUSEN (formerly of THE HAWK/MONMOUTH OCEAN & KISS 98-5/BUFFALO)in middays, PD JUSTIN TYME (formerly of KWNZ/RENO) in PM drive and we're currently searching for a night jock (JERSEY preferred). The station is voiced by HARRY LEGG. At TODAY's launch, we had TRAIN, JADA, JASON DERULO and HARDNOX call the station to give us their blessings. The station also has resurrected classic B98-5 jingles while we wait for the arrival of our new REEL WORLD Jingle Package. The station also had guest appearances from former B98-5 jocks such as FOX FELTMAN and DAVE PEARSON. We are planning a B98-5 reunion for early NOVEMBER."
