STEEL CITY MEDIA AC WLTJ (Q92.9)/PITTSBRUGH brought together 40 listeners and four amateur cameramen to do a three-hour shoot with a $54 budget to create the PITTSBURGH video version of HANSON’s "Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’." The video features Q92.9 listeners, JOHN CLINE and KERRI GRIFFITH from the Q Morning Show and HANSON. It was shot FRIDAY, August 20th in three hours and has officially been released TODAY.
"At first the guys in HANSON were skeptical about creating a PITTSBURGH version for the song," Q92.9 Brand Manager Dan Michaels said. "They agreed to run through the song twice while on the Q Morning Show beginning at eight that morning. That meant we had two hours to shoot all the other scenes with the listeners before the band arrived. We knew they’d leave after they met the band."
Q92.9 used staff members as photographers and constructed an intricate plan to get everything done in the small time available. Shooting with four cameras, following a storyboard closely, the shoot was completed in time.
"It’s a great showcase for the band and the Q" said MICHAELS. "As just about the only locally owned-and-operated station in PITTSBURGH, it was a great opportunity to create something distinctly about the city."
