Veteran U.K. radio personality TONY BLACKBURN is taking over BBC RADIO 2's weekly "PICK OF THE POPS" oldies chart show, replacing DALE WINTON after the OCTOBER 30th broadcast.
BLACKBURN was BBC RADIO 1's first DJ and formerly hosted that station's TOP 40 COUNTDOWN; he currently hosts a SUNDAY show, "THE BEST OF SOUL AND MOTOWN," on BBC LONDON 94.9FM and also hosts weekend mornings on GMG AC SMOOTH RADIO/LONDON. WINTON took over the long-running "PICK OF THE POPS" from the late ALAN FREEMAN in 2000.
