ENTERCOM Sports WEEI-A/BOSTON has inked a renewal with the BOSTON CELTICS, extending WEEI's coverage of the team under a multi-year partnership. SEAN GRANDE and CEDRIC MAXWELL will return for their 10th season calling the action, with a new live call-in segment added to the post-game show. The station will also launch "CELTICS THURSDA," with CELTICS coach DOC RIVERS appearing on JOHN DENNIS and GERRY CALLAHAN's morning show, Pres./Basketball Operations DANNY AINGE on GLENN ORDWAY's afternoon "THE BIG SHOW," and a rotation of CELTICS players on the DALE ARNOLD and MICHAEL HOLLEY's midday show.
"WEEI has enjoyed a fantastic relationship with the CELTICS over the past four years and I'm thrilled that we're extending our deal with the team," said ENTERCOM NEW ENGLAND VP/AM Programming JASON WOLFE. "The CELTICS are great partners, and we've enjoyed tremendous mutual success during this relationship. I can't wait for this season to begin, and what a way to tip it off with the HEAT coming in on Opening Night."
"We are thrilled to renew and extend what has been a mutually beneficial partnership with ENTERCOM NEW ENGLAND and WEEI," said CELTICS President RICH GOTHAM. "The addition of CELTICS THURSDAY will provide our fans with unique 'must listen' access to the team that can't be found anywhere else".
ENTERCOM VP/Market Manager JULIE KAHN said, "We're overjoyed to continue our relationship with the BOSTON CELTICS and have them as part of our WEEI family. We remain dedicated to providing high quality programming for listeners that truly sets us apart, in addition to a great platform for our advertisers."
