KWNA Will Flip To ESPN Radio On Friday

Sports Replaces Country

ELY RADIO Country KWNA/WINNEMUCCA, NV will be flipping to ESPN RADIO on FRIDAY (10/1) after 30 years of playing Country music. Owner FRED WEINBERG told ALL ACCESS: “It was a no-brainer to flip to ESPN. It is a business decision and will bring more money in from advertisers. We can localize sports much easier than Country music.”

WEINBERG also expressed his frustrations with the PERFORMANCE ROYALTY ACT and said, “If Country artists want performance royalties, they can get them somewhere else. My give a damn’s busted.”

There will be no staff changes in the format flip.
