CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES afternoon hosts JOHN KOBYLT and KEN CHIAMPOU have been harshly critical of CALIFORNIA Republican gubernatorial candidate MEG WHITMAN since discovering that she gave conflicting messages on illegal immigration depending on whether she was addressing English-speaking or Spanish-speaking voters, and now that WHITMAN has been accused of knowingly employing an illegal immigrant as a housekeeper, JOHN AND KEN are offering to have WHITMAN take a lie detector test about the matter.
WHITMAN has been accused by NICKI DIAZ and her attorney GLORIA ALLRED of having been informed of DIAZ' possible illegal status in a letter from the government and ignoring the information until she decided to run for office, at which time WHITMAN fired DIAZ. WHITMAN categorically denied DIAZ and ALLRED's accusations, and JOHN AND KEN, who had WHITMAN on the show for a contentious half-hour earlier in the campaign and refer to the candidate as "NUTMEG," jumped on WHITMAN's assertion that she would be willing to take a lie detector test by offering to have it done live on their show. WHITMAN's campaign has yet to respond to the offer.
JOHN AND KEN have ripped both WHITMAN and her Democratic opponent JERRY BROWN, who has ignored the team's invitation to appear on the show, throughout the campaign.
