Former RADIO DISNEY O&O WDRD-A/LOUISVILLE has flipped to Sports using ESPN RADIO. The station was one of four RADIO DISNEY stations (including WDZK-A/HARTFORD, WBWL-A/JACKSONVILLE and WDDZ-A/PROVIDENCE) on the chopping block last week, slated to go dark, but went to the Sports format over the weekend.
The JACKSONVILLE station found a buyer in STUART EPPERSON's CHESAPEAKE PORTSMOUTH BROADCASTING last week for $650,000; EPPERSON's company is moving Talk WBOB-A to WBWL's frequency and is applying for a reduction in nighttime power and change in directional pattern.
ESPN RADIO was last heard in LOUISVILLE on CUMULUS Sports WQKC-A (1450 THE TICKET), which went dark on AUGUST 2nd.
