WLLIAM H. "BILL" PAYNE has announced the appointment of KEN FEARNOW as SVP/Operations for PAYNE RADIO GROUP in EASTERN OKLAHOMA, which includes Country stations KITX/HUGO, KEOK/TAHLEQUAH, KTFX/WARNER and Classic Country KTLQ/TAHLEQUAH
FEARNOW began his radio broadcasting career with PAYNE in 1973. KEN became the General Sales Mnager and then was promoted to GM of KTFX. He later joined GREAT EMPIRE BROADCASTING in 1979. During the last decade, he has held Market Manager roles for JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP, NRG MEDIA and CUMULUS. He was President of WAITT RADIO NETWORKS from 2002 through 2006.
PAYNE said: "We are happy and excited to have one of OKLAHOMA's favorite sons back in the state and close to family and friends. While working for us in the '70s, KEN was one of the best air personalities we have ever had; he became the best sales person we ever had, and later the best sales manager plus the best general manager. What more could you ask or want?”
FEARNOW said: "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with BILL again in my home state of OKLAHOMA. He's a good friend and one of the most passionate and devoted broadcasters I know. He's always been committed to his local advertisers and communities."
