It hasn't been a good day for RONN OWENS' schedule on his CITADEL Talk KGO-A/SAN FRANCISCO show.
First, a scheduled debate between gubernatorial candidates MEG WHITMAN and JERRY BROWN was abruptly canceled the night before it was to air TODAY. The plug was pulled in a move representatives from the WHITMAN and BROWN campaigns said was "mutual." The race was thrown into turmoil last week with a suit brought by WHITMAN's former housekeeper, an illegal immigrant who charges that WHITMAN knew of her status and ignored it until she decided to run for office, at which point WHITMAN allegedly fired the woman.
Second, former KGO and KSFO-A President and GM MICKEY LUCKOFF was scheduled to appear on today's show, but his appearance was also canceled "by management," according to OWENS. LUCKOFF's comments to the SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE's ANDREW S. ROSS about CITADEL ("These aren't very good people. They don't treat people well. They undermine you at every turn") may have given management pause in considering whether to allow the interview.
