PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS has launched The IAN WHITCOMB Show, a new satellite radio program which will air SUNDAY mornings from 9-10a ET on Music Summit (XM Channel 24). British invasion veteran and music historian IAN WHITCOMB. will offer an eclectic and exciting mix of American and British popular songs ranging from Tin Pan Alley Ragtime, through 1920s crooners and dance bands, to 1950s rock ‘n’ roll, as well as his anecdotes about the music.
"I hope listeners will feel as if I'm sitting next to them in their car, or on a couch in their home, and this Englishman is slapping old records onto a portable record player," stated WHITCOMB. "I'm excited to introduce styles of music like ragtime, or some old crooner, that are new and fresh to listeners, while sharing stories about life today or yesterday. I may even pick up a ukulele and strum and sing. It’s going to be spontaneous and entertaining, and the audience will learn a little more about the great treasure, the fine legacy that is American Pop Song."
"We're excited to welcome a multi-talented entertainer and renowned musician like IAN to our satellite radio lineup," Premiere Radio Networks SVP/Programming Jennifer Leimgruber stated: "Music fans from around the world will undoubtedly enjoy the unique mix of music and history that only Ian can deliver."
WHITCOMB served as a radio host at KROQ, KCRW and KPCC/LOS ANGELES. Videos of WHITCOMB in action from the 1960s to today can view hundreds of videos on www.YouTube.com. For more information, please visit
