The UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA's Eclectic KUOM-A-F-K283BG-W264BR (RADIO K)/MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL has lost $50,000 in federal funds from the COPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING due to the station's low ratings in ARBITRON's PPM system, reports the MINNESOTA DAILY campus newspaper.
Marketing Director ALEX GATERUD told the DAILY, "In any public radio or public broadcasting setting, that's a huge hit. We're confident we can deliver [an] excellent product continuously, but we're still looking to fill that gap." The station receives about five times more in student services fees funding than from the CPB and is conducting its FALL pledge drive.
