Taylor Swift To Release Double LP Vinyl Version Of 'Speak Now'

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY is reporting that BIG MACHINE star TAYLOR SWIFT will release a double-LP vinyl edition of her new album, “Speak Now,” on NOVEMBER 16th. The CD version will be available in stores OCTOBER 25th.

TAYLOR told EW, “The vinyl is really important to me because I’m so in love with the concept of an album -- a collection of memories from your life that you’re giving to people. It’s a piece of you. Buying them on vinyl is just taking that one step further and acknowledging that albums are important.”

More on SWIFT’s decision to go vinyl will be featured in the new issue of EW, on newsstands TOMORROW (10/15). 

Concurrently, TAYLOR will begin a media blitz in support of the album release beginning OCTOBER 25th, where she will join a group of contest winners at a private performance at the UNITED NATIONS in NEW YORK CITY. The event will be streamed on many of MTV NETWORKS’ properties, including www.CMT.com, www.MTV.com, www.VH1.com and websites across EUROPE, ASIA, AUSTRALIA and LATIN AMERICA.

The following day, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26th, TAYLOR will perform live for fans from ROCKEFELLER PLAZA on NBC-TV’s “Today” show as part of their fall concert series. Fans can apply for passes to the show at http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/30012397. That night, she will do an interview and performance on the “Late Show with DAVID LETTERMAN” on CBS-TV. The “Today” show airs on NBC from 7-11a (all time zones), and “Letterman” airs on CBS at 11:30p (ET/PT).

On WEDNESDAY the 27th, TAYLOR’S day starts with “Live! With Regis & Kelly,” where she will do an interview and performance. “Live!” airs on ABC affiliates nationwide, check www.liveregisandkelly.com for listings by area. 

That afternoon, she will visit SCHOLASTIC’S NEW YORK headquarters, where she will take time out from her busy release week schedule for a special literacy event, “Read Now! with TAYLOR SWIFT,” as part of the company’s 90th Anniversary Literacy campaign. Later in the day, she will visit MADAME TUSSAUD’S NEW YORK – the famed TIMES SQUARE wax attraction -- for the unveiling of her original wax figure.

TAYLOR’S “Speak Now” release week culminates on THURSDAY the 28th in LOS ANGELES, where the “ELLEN” show will celebrate the release of the album by once again devoting an entire hour-long show to throwing TAYLOR’S official album release party. The “Speak Now” Album Release Party will air on “ELLEN” on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1st (syndicated, check local listings). This is only the second time in history the show has hosted an album launch, the first was for TAYLOR’S “Fearless” album in 2008.

Last but not least, TAYLOR will be back on LOS ANGELES on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd, to perform on “Dancing With the Stars,” airing on ABC-TV at 9p (ET/PT).
