RADIO ONE PHILADELPHIA is sponsoring a free KIRK FRANKLIN concert to benefit the city’s homeless. The event takes place TUESDAY, OCTOBER 19th at ENON TABERNACLE BAPTIST CHURCH, 2800 W. Cheltenham Ave. in the nearby suburb of MT. AIRY. The concert is free, however patrons are encourged to donate one toiletry item to support THE CHOSEN 300, an organization that services the homeless community in the PHILADELPHIA area. This event culminates a month long initiative of community service for RADIO ONE's 30th Anniversary.
“I commend KIRK FRANKLIN for believing that his contribution to the homeless of PHILADELPHIA will be remembered by thousands in years to come,” said RADIO ONE PHILADELPHIA OM ELROY SMITH. “ This mega entertainer could have turned his cheek the other way, but he did not and we in PHILADELPHIA need to have the same attitude in giving to the homeless this TUESDAY.” For more information, log on to http://www.thebesatofphilly.com.
