KGO's Ray Taliaferro, NPR's Walterene Swanston To Be Honored By NABJ

CITADEL Talk KGO-A/SAN FRANCISCO overnight host RAY TALIAFERRO will be one of five inductees to the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BLACK JOURNALISTS Hall of Fame and former NPR Director of Diversity Management WALTERENE SWANSTON will receive the NABJ's IDA B. WELLS Award at a gala on JANUARY 27, 2011 at the NEWSEUM in WASHINGTON.
"These trailblazers in the industry have endured great challenges so that black journalists today can have more freedom and professional opportunities," said NABJ President KATHY TIMES. "Their accomplishments will be preserved and passed on to future generations. We're proud to salute these worthy honorees."
TALIAFERRO's fellow inductees will be the late CBS NEWS reporter and "60 MINUTES" co-anchor ED BRADLEY, WGN-TV/CHICAGO anchor MERRI DEE, WUSA-TV/WASHINTON anchor JC HAYWARD, and the WASHINGTON POST's EUGENE ROBINSON.
